General Motors Canada announced that effective August 1, 2018, Jim Williams, is appointed to Vice President, Lead Counsel for GM Canada.

Williams succeeds Peter Cho who will assume the role of vice president, lead counsel for GM Korea.

Williams will report to Jeff Taylor, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and indirectly to Travis Hester, GM Canada President and Managing Director. Williams will also join GM Canada’s Executive Committee and GM Canada’s board of directors.

“I’d like to thank Peter for his many contributions and leadership at GM Canada and wish him well in his new role in Korea,” said Hester. “I’m also pleased to welcome Jim to the GM Canada team. His rich experience with General Motors will be valuable as we continue to build GM Canada’s leadership in sales, manufacturing and automotive innovation.”

Williams has 29 years of service with GM, which includes extensive experience in GM’s litigation practice and as counsel for the Sales and Marketing organization.
