In wake of the Trump Administration imposing steel and aluminum tariffs on its allies, Canada, Mexico and the European Union, have reacted strongly, denouncing the move and imposing tariffs of their own on U.S. goods.

On the automotive side, the Global Automakers of Canada, has reiterated the concerns of the membership regarding these steel and aluminum tariffs imposed by the President of the United States.

“The automotive Industry is completely globalized. Pretending that this is not the case is myopic, misguided and harmful to our collective economies,” said David Adams, President of the Global Automakers of Canada.

“More importantly, tariffs are essentially taxes that are paid by American consumers who are disadvantaged by these actions,” added Adams.
