Kinaxis, which provides RapidResponse, a leading cloud-based supply chain management solution based on concurrent planning, has partnered with Volvo Cars.
The aim is to help Kinaxis assist in the transformation of Volvo’s global supply chain to better enable volume forecasting and production planning processes within the company’s automotive solution footprint.
Using RapidResponse, Volvo Cars will model the complexities of its global automotive manufacturing processes and use the product’s concurrent scenario planning and real-time collaboration capabilities to help optimize its supply chain. RapidResponse will also help Volvo Cars foster a collaborative, responsibility-based supply chain that better connects departments with suppliers and customers.
“We are excited to announce our continued expansion of new customers in Europe as we work with Volvo Cars to help transform the organization’s supply chain planning technique,” said Kinaxis CEO John Sicard. “Concurrent planning through RapidResponse is the foundation driving reductions in planning latency for many of the world’s largest manufacturers. We are honored to have earned the trust and confidence of Volvo Cars.”
Using the ‘what-if’ simulation capabilities built into RapidResponse, Volvo Cars will have the ability to develop both constrained and unconstrained supply chain scenarios based on projected volume. To help determine the right course of action, ‘what-if’ scenarios can be measured against key performance indicators. This, supported by the product’s collaboration functionality, will allow Volvo Cars to share regionally developed scenarios with its global headquarters to accurately determine vehicle volume requirements.
