General Motors of Canada said it was #1 in Canada for 2017 full-year automotive retail sales driven by a strong product portfolio in key Canadian market segments.
In an official statement, GM Canada said it has built steady sales momentum throughout 2017 culminating in a strong December as Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered 19,801 vehicles (total) in December, an increase of 9.2 per cent year-over-year. This included 14,568 retail and 5,233 fleet deliveries.
GM Canada’s focus on all-important retail sales culminated in 232,057 retail deliveries in 2017, an increase of 15.2 per cent year-over-year. GM Canada’s fleet also outpaced the industry in commercial sales with 27,186 deliveries in 2017, an increase of 23 per cent year-over-year.
“With our strength in SUVs, pickups and EVs, GM Canada and our dealers have aligned with what Canadians want to drive,” said John Roth, Vice-President, Sales, Service and Marketing. “We built momentum steadily throughout 2017 and our December results are signaling our intention to keep our brands at the front of the pack.”
