Annual event celebrates the past, while looking forward to an exciting future.

On December 8, members of the automotive industry, including dealers and suppliers, gathered at the Universal Event Space in Vaughan, Ont., for TADA’s annual Christmas Luncheon.

This marked the first time this holiday tradition took place at the Universal Event Space, though with over 600 registered attendees, the new location proved a very suitable backdrop.

Featuring a superb buffet lunch, along with hors d’oeuvres and desert platters, the event provided the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past year of automotive retailing in the province as well as provide a glimpse of what lies ahead.

Porsche giveaway

One of the highlights of the year is the annual vehicle giveaway in support of Prostate Cancer Canada. Each year, TADA raffles off a spectacular vehicle, and in 2018 the car in question is a new Porsche 911 (valued at $170,000) with numerous upgrades courtesy of Pfaff Tuning.

The car, which was on display during the luncheon, will ultimately be raffled off at the 2018 Canadian International Auto Show. To date, close to $2 million has been raised for Prostate Cancer Canada through generous donations from members of the automotive community.

Other highlights included giveaway prizes, including trips to Jamaica, Las Vegas and even Hong Kong and Taiwan, as well as live entertainment in the shape of tribute acts to some of the best- known names in music entertainment including Cher, Whitney Houston, Madonna, Katy Perry and Shania Twain.
