Sales volumes climb above an annualized 2.0 million.
According to the June issue of Auto News Flash, published by Carlos Gomes, Senior Economist with Scotiabank, Canadian new car sales are on a healthy trajectory, again.
“Purchases surged 11% above a year earlier,” Gomes said in his report, “climbing back above an annualized 2.0 million units and setting a record for the month of May.”
Gomes said that car sales jumped 3% above a year earlier in May, which represents the first advance since the spring of 2015. Prior to last month’s upturn, car sales had declined 5% through May.
