Two major Canadian dealer conglomerates are pursuing their expansion efforts in Quebec.

The Dilwari Group recently acquired West-Island Cadillac Chevrolet Buick GMC from a shareholder group, while Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud, located on Montreal’s South Shore, will soon be part of the AutoCanada group.

“We are extremely excited about the addition of West-Island Cadillac Chevrolet Buick GMC to our group, and are pleased to welcome 65 new employees to our family,” declared Kap Dilwari, who shares the title of Principal Director with his brothers Tony and Ajay. This addition allows us to increase our presence in the Dollard-des-Ormeaux area, a community which we have proudly served since 2015.”

When added to last week’s opening of Vancouver Nissan, this acquisition brings the total number of dealerships in the Dilwari Group up to 63.

As for Mercedes-Benz Rive-Sud, completely renovated in 2014 and 2015 at a cost of 25 million dollars, the seriousness of the AutoCanada group offer managed to convince the Groupe Leclair owners to accept the bid.

Based in Edmonton, Alberta, AutoCanada, the only publicly listed Canadian dealer conglomerate, currently operates 56 dealerships in eight provinces. Quebec dealerships include BMW Canbec and BMW de Laval as well as MINI Mont-Royal and MINI Laval.
