Simplicity Car Care presented an opportunity to over 80 students from Centennial College to tour one of the company’s facilities and learn about the collision repair industry.
The event took place on November 14 at Simplicity Car Care’s Training Centre located at 42 Midwest Rd., Ontario. It was a four-hour event, comprising a shop tour and seminar.
A guided tour of the collision repair centre was led by Domenic Prochilo, Vice President Operations, Simplicity Car Care. The students then attended a pre/post scanning seminar and a laser guided frame measurement seminar that were set up by the company. Additionally, with an introduction to OEM procedures, Prochilo provided the students with an insight into what to expect from the vehicles they would have to work on in the future.
As a member of the Program Advisory Council (PAC Committee) at Centennial College, Prochilo came to know about an opportunity for the students to tour collision repair centres. He immediately offered Simplicity Car Care for the tour with the promise that the time would be educational for the students.
“It is our duty as Leaders of collision repair to prepare the entire echo system for what the future holds for all of us. Vehicle technology, which is leading to further vehicle repair complexity, the emergence of ADAS, EV’s and AV’s will prove to provide more challenges for the entire collision repair industry. At SCC we look to share the “Wisdom Of The Organization” (WOTO) to help decrease the learning curve,” says Prochilo.
Prochilo also notes that Simplicity Car Care is committed to helping the collision repair echo system improve and “become better today than we were yesterday”. This, he says, is how continuous improvement is done. As proof of this commitment, Simplicity Car Care hosts $0 workshops regionally that are open for everyone to attend.
