PPG MVP Business Solutions has announced the addition of three new dynamic classes to its Business Development series.

The three classes added to the program are Refinish Area Optimization, Administrative Process Improvement and Advanced Estimating 2019. According to the company, they have been developed for the benefit of collision centre owners, managers and other key personnel, since they enable them to streamline processes, maximize resources and improve estimating accuracy by applying innovative, MVP performance-accelerating business processes.

“Our entire purpose is to help PPG customers be competitive and successful,” says Robb Power, PPG Senior Manager, MVP Business Solutions, Automotive Refinish. “Classes are intended to boost shop productivity and efficiency and are representative of PPG’s overall commitment to the automotive refinish industry. They’re a key factor in the robust relationship we build with our customers. Each of these new classes provides skills and insights that can make a critical difference in a collision center’s bottom line.”

PPG offers the MVP classes at its business development centres and other suitable locations throughout Canada and the U.S.

Brief details on the new classes are as follows:

Refinish Area Optimization—This is a one-day class plus a two-day on-site workshop.

The focus of this class is on factors that influence profitability and help in optimizing spray booth operations. A group situation analysis exercise is part of the sessions.
The topics covered in the class are—the refinish process; paint shop KPIs; applying the quick-changeover approach to increase productivity; solving common refinish production problems; and proven strategies to drive continuous improvement.

Administrative Process Improvement—This one-day highly interactive class has been designed to help attendees understand how to handle administrative processes and staff to maximize resources and reap better profits.

The subjects covered by this class are—the collision centre administrative environment; introduction to process mapping; the work file (paper flow) process; administrative positions and duties; skills evaluation; training-needs assessment; and administrative action planning.

Advanced Estimating 2019—This is a two-day class developed to inform participants regarding the latest practices for writing technically accurate estimates for safe and complete repairs.
PPG will cover the following topics in this class—refinish operations; managing KPIs; advanced technologies/tools for today’s estimator; research and documentation; analytical diagnostics; procedure pages; estimatic library; and LQK parts.

MVP is already conducting these new classes and has received positive feedback from attendees. The classes are quite popular, and seats are currently limited.

MVP has started conducting these classes. Participants attending early class sessions have been overwhelmingly receptive.

“MVP has steadily provided the industry’s most comprehensive set of training, tools and services for the collision professional,” says John Fagan II, PPG Business Solutions Manager. “Our classes consistently yield positive results. We welcome all PPG customers and hope they will let us assist them in their success.”

In a release by the company, PPG encourages its customers to register quickly to secure a place. The schedule of class dates and locations can be found at ppgmvp.com. According to PPG, all MVP classes can be arranged as per the specific needs of regions and shops to address particular issues.
