Axalta showcased its Fast Cure Low Energy technology and its cloud-based Digital Colour Management at the International Bodyshop Industry Symposium (IBIS) Global Summit 2019.

The IBIS Global Summit 2019: Passion for Progress was held from June 10 to 12 in Milan, Italy. Axalta presented its colour management system at the event to an audience of refinishers and collision industry experts from around the globe.

“‘Passion for Progress’ resonates with Axalta, because passion is at the core of how we innovate for customers every day,” said Jim Muse, Axalta’s Vice President of Sales for Global Refinish. “Nowhere is this more evident than in our premium refinish brands, Cromax, Spies Hecker, and Standox.” Muse added that, “our dedication to innovation gives our customers confidence in our fast, efficient, high-quality coating technologies and in our integrated digital business solutions. These work together to make the entire paint repair journey faster, easier and more profitable.”

Axalta showcased its Fast Cure Low Energy technology which has been developed to reduce process times in collision repair shops by up to 50 percent, besides decreasing energy consumption by 70 percent without compromising on the quality of the repair. According to the company, repair shops may utilize this technology to deliver quicker repair services to enhance their profitability.

Also showcased at the event was Axalta’s Digital Colour Management system. Using a cloud-based colour management system, this has been designed to help collision repair shops carry out the entire colour retrieval and colour mixing processes 100 percent wirelessly as well as digitally. According to the company, this is not only unique in Axalta but also a first within the industry.

In addition to the above, the company also presented its digital network management system—RepScore.net—at the IBIS summit. This system has been created to help bodyshops cooperate with network owners such as fleet, lease and insurance companies and car manufacturers.

Keeping with its motorsport heritage, Axalta noted that visitors had the opportunity to view Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s F1 W10 EQ Power+— the race car being  driven by Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas in the 2019 FIA Formula One Championship. The company has a long-standing partnership with the team, which sports Axalta’s global refinish brand Spies Hecker on its race cars for over five years. In a statement by the company, Axalta states that the paint keeps the cars light and durable and enable them to withstand extreme track conditions.

Axalta’s presence at the IBIS Global Summit 2019 was part of the multi-year global partnership between Axalta and Plenham.
