Friday, March 22 saw Skills Canada Newfoundland Labrador host the Skilled Career Day and 22nd Annual Skills Canada Provincial Competitions.
The events were mainly held at College of the North Atlantic and over 350 finalists from all over the province competed in trade, technology and employability skill areas.
“It is so inspiring to see the level of excellence with which the young people of our province perform in skilled trades and technologies,” said Carole Ann Ryan, Executive Director of Skills Canada Newfoundland and Labrador. In the past 21 years, this team has had a strong showing at the national level, coming home with several medals in a variety of fields. “We are always so proud of Team Newfoundland and Labrador and we are sure this year will be no exception,” added Ryan.
Here are the results of the Skills Competition in the Autobody, Car Painting and Automotive Service events:
AUTOBODY Post- Secondary

Gold: Shawn French – College of the North Atlantic – Prince Philip Drive Campus.
Silver: Chad Cook – College of the North Atlantic – Prince Philip Drive Campus.
Bronze: Brandon Pieroway – College of the North Atlantic – Bay St. George Campus.
