Collision Industry Information Assistance (CIIA) has announced two new courses taking place in Vaughan and London, Ont.
The courses are intended to enable unlicensed technicians to complete the provincial trades licence exam successfully. Additionally, new staff members who attend the classes will be able to learn the fundamentals of Basic Estimating damage appraisal for their shops.
The courses offered by CIIA in Vaughan are as follows:
- Four full day Certificate of Qualification preparation industry courses will be held on weekends in February 2019, on the 16th, 17th, 23rd, and 24th. The classes will take place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at SATA Canada, 125 Buttermill Road, Vaughan.
- Two full day Basic Estimating courses will be held on February 13 and 20, 2019. The classes will take place at SATA Canada’s Vaughan location from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Students located in south-west Ontario may attend tech training for exams and Basic Estimating in London on March 6 and March 8. Additionally, four full day courses that help with Certification of Qualification, will be held on March 9, 10, 16 and 17. The full day courses will take place from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm in 1771 Oxford Street East, London, Ont.
Prepayment is mandatory for the courses. Course fee for the Certificate Qualification class is $1000 plus HST for non-members and $800 plus HST for CIIA members. Participants are required to pay $750 plus HST if they are non-members and $550 plus HST if they are members, for the two-day Basic Estimating course. Most employers who have employees attending the CIIA classes may be eligible for a 2/3rds government training fee rebate.
