Polyvance has launched a smartphone app that is designed to help technicians quickly identify plastics and help them with the best way to repair them.
“Now that everyone has a phone in their pocket that’s more powerful than the space shuttle’s computer, why not use it to help you repair plastics?”, says Kurt Lammon, President, Polyvance.
The simple design of the app allows technicians to quickly find relevant information. The app has four main sections: Plastics Identification, Standard Operating Procedures, Videos, and Welder Companion.
The function of each section is as follow:
- Plastics Identification: This contains a list of the most common plastic ID symbols. They provide an insight about the plastics, detailing what they are, where they are found, and how to repair them.
- Standard Operating Procedures: This section takes users step-by-step through the appropriate methods of using Polyvance products.
- Videos: This section gives technicians access to the Polyvance plastic repair video tutorial library.
- Welder Companion: This provides complete information about Polyvance’s nitrogen plastic welders. It features quick-start guides, general troubleshooting guides, and welder FAQs.
The Polyvance app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Android phones and tablets. It is however available on Apple devices that have iOS 10.0 or later and Android devices that have Android 4.4 or later. Technicians may download the app at no cost from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store by searching for “Polyvance.”
