Female registered apprentices in collision repair facilities are now eligible for a new $3000 annual grant.
The Honourable Patty Hadju, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour announced a new Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women, in December 2018.
As per this new Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women, registered female apprentices in Canada who have completed their first or second year level are eligible for $3000 per year or level, up to a maximum amount of $6000.
Registered female apprentices in collision repair facilities who have successfully completed the required year or level on or after April 1, 2018 may apply for the grant. Candidates can apply for the grant twice during their training period.
“The new Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women supports gender equality and better economic outcomes for women by giving them more opportunities to access typically higher-paying Red Seal trades where they are under-represented,” the Ministry said in a statement.
