Skills Ontario held its 29th annual competition at the Toronto Congress Centre from May 7-9.
Over 2,000 students from across the province participated in contests for almost 70 different skilled trades and technologies, including Car Painting, Auto Collision Repair and Auto Service Technology.
In Post-Secondary Auto Collision Repair, medalists were Nick Denny (gold) of Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology, Cody Yates (silver) of Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology and Scott Partridge (bronze) of Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology.
In Secondary Auto Collision Repair, medalists were Matt Jack (gold) of Simcoe Country DSB, Liam Alford (silver) of Limestone DSB and Tyler Mcnamee (bronze) of Halton DBS.
In Post-Secondary Car Painting, medalists were Maggie Friesen (gold) of Fanshawe College of Applied Arts and Technology, Catherine Mathewson (silver) of Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology, and Jordan Fairman (bronze) of Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.
In Secondary Car Painting, medalists were Logan Williams (gold) of Limestone DSB, Zoe Pohlman (silver) of Bluewater DSB, and Nicole Witney of Halton DSB.
In Post-Secondary Auto Service Technology, medalists were Keeshan Sharma (gold) of Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology, Oleksiy Kolomitsev (silver) of Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology, and Ryan Gascho (bronze) of Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology.
In Secondary Auto Service Technology, medalists were William Chee (gold) of Toronto DSB, Declan Mowle (silver) of Bluewater DSB and David Vecchiarelli (bronze) of York CDSB.
Gold medalists from the provincial competitions will have the opportunity to compete at the Skills Canada national competition in June, to be held in Edmonton.
