On June 5, Skills Canada will be hosting an Automotive Technology Summit.

Taking place from 8:30 am to 11:30 am in rooms 301 and 302, EXPO Gallery at the Edmonton Expo Centre (7515 – 118 Avenue, Edmonton, Alta.) the event will bring together leading vehicle manufacturers to share information on current and future-model vehicle construction and the impact on repair methodology, tooling and training.

The Skills Canada National Competition is designed to provide a suitable setting for the collision repair industry, car dealers, educators, students and interested parties to meet with vehicle manufacturers and learn how the collision repair industry is rapidly changing.

Key topics that will be covered at the Skills Canada Automotive Technology Summit include evolving vehicle design, construction methods and advanced materials, and technology integration. Representatives from major OEMs will provide an overview on developing technologies and repair procedures from their respective brands, with added input from the Global Automakers of Canada on automotive industry trends, as well as a panel discussion on the importance of OEM certification programs related to collision repairs.

The vehicle manufacturer presentations will be followed by light refreshments, and a tour of the Skills Canada National Competition. The Skills Canada Automotive Technology Summit is a free event that will be attended by local automotive college students, instructors, collision repair industry representatives, car dealers, automakers, and others.
