This year’s Manitoba Skills Competitions were held on April 12 at Red River College, where over 500 students from across the province showcased their talent and expertise in over 40 categories of skilled trades and technology.

In the Autobody Repair Secondary competition, the medalists were David Messerschmidt (Gold) of Steinabach Regional Secondary School, Garry Gibbons (Silver) of Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School, and Jenna Klassen (Bronze) of Steinbach Regional Secondary School.

In the Autobody Repair Post-Secondary competition, the medalists were Ashfarul Ali (Gold), Brett Buchanan (Silver) and Tyler Desousa (Bronze), all students of Red River College.

In the Car Painting Secondary competition, the medalists were Henry Kasper (Gold) of Steinbach Regional Secondary School, Oludayo Alebiosu (Silver) of Crocus Plains Regional Secondary School and Austin Stasiuk (Bronze) of Maples Collegiate.

In the Car Painting Post-Secondary competition, the medalists were Have Dimayuga (Gold), Aaron Balingit (Silver) and Jeremy Marion (Bronze), all students of Red River College.

The gold medal winners from this competition will have the opportunity to represent Manitoba at the Skills Canada National Competition in Edmonton, Alta. from June 3 to 6.
