PPG has announced its schedule of collision refinish training classes for the second quarter of 2018.

These courses, set for April, May and June, will cover PPG Premium brands, including the ENVIROBASE High Performance, AQUABASE Plus, DELTRON and GLOBAL REFINISH SYSTEM lines.

Each class has been designed and structured to ensure refinish technicians are current with PPG processes, processes and technological advancements.

Classes are led by expert instructors and last 1-2 days, with participants receiving both in-classroom and hands-on training. Topics range from product selection to equipment and colour tools to surface preparation and paint application best practices. Courses are being held at PPG Training Centers and field locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Of particular significance are the certification classes being offered for each brand. PPG refinish technicians must be certified every two years and once certified status is achieved, their respective collision centres are able to offer PPG’s Limited Paint Performance Guarantee to customers.

If colour matching is of special interest, PPG offers colour-specific training classes titled “Eyes for Color” and “PPG Color.” These classes cover colour theory and its practical application in matching and tinting refinish waterborne and solvent-borne colours, as well as providing an in-depth look at associated colour tools. Hands-on exercises provide technicians with product and colour tool exposure along with training on various blending techniques.

PPG refinish classes are conducted in English as well as French and Spanish in some locations and allow for informal Q&A discussions with trainers.
