This year’s Ontario Automotive Recyclers Association (OARA) Convention focused on how recyclers can run their businesses more efficiently in a changing world.

From March 22-24, the Hilton Toronto/Markham Suites Conference Centre, was once again the setting for the annual OARA Convention.

With a raft of information sessions, workshops, networking opportunities and an on-site tradeshow, the event provided a complete picture of current trends in the auto recycling industry within North America. There was also the opportunity to relax and unwind on Friday evening with live music and the opportunity for a little gambling at the tables, all for a good cause!

A key highlight of this year’s conference was recognizing former OARA Chairman Wally Dingman for his achievements over the past 11 years, including the development of multiple projects that have resulted in considerable modernization, growth and professionalism in the recycling industry. From an association standpoint, OARA has also grown in scope, setting benchmarks for the industry around the world as well as working closely with government regulators and spreading awareness on the critical role recyclers play within the larger automotive eco system.
