Driven Brands is on the path to establishing a complete collision and glass offering in Canada, which was showcased at CCIF Toronto 2020 held on 30-31 January.

At the event, CARSTAR, the collision repair network of the group, and sister company Uniban, a company that offers automotive glass repair, replacement and recalibration services, came together to showcase their unified presence.

The Canadian Collision Industry Forum (CCIF)’s Toronto event offered a national platform for all stakeholders of the collision repair industry—collision repair businesses, suppliers, insurers, associations, OEs, and educators—to discuss the latest innovations, challenges and solutions.

“Historically, CARSTAR and Uniban have always demonstrated a strong presence at CCIF, as it is a cornerstone event that brings substantial education and value to Canadians in the industry,” says Michael Macaluso, Collision & Glass Group President, Driven Brands. “However now, as both organizations are under one umbrella, the teams were able to unite at the trade show, in our centrally located booth, creating momentous excitement amongst attendees. Showcased together at CCIF is not just a great visual, but also a practical example of our continued commitment to growth and success for our franchise, insurance and vendor partners. We have big, bold plans across Canada in 2020.”

Quebec-based Uniban was acquired by Driven Brands in November 2019. This has added to the group’s Collision and Glass portfolio, allowing Driven Brands to bring both services under one umbrella. In order to achieve efficiencies for the franchise partners, Jeff Labanovich, Canadian General Manager for CARSTAR and Mikaël Desmarais, General Manager for Uniban, are collaboratively working to identify solutions.

“The addition of Uniban into the Driven Brands family has increased our value proposition to all of our partners,” adds Macaluso. “Not only that, but it solidifies our position as collision and glass leaders for North America and we look forward to growing the vertical in both size and service levels for years to come.”

The CARSTAR and Uniban teams had the opportunity to network with the event’s attendees. Additionally, a virtual spray booth interactive display installed at the Driven Brands booth was a popular attraction at CCIF.
