BASF recently honoured its customer Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota for completing 60 successful years in the automotive refinish business.

Located at 2336 St. Clair Ave. West in Toronto, Ontario, the shop has been a long-standing partner of BASF as an R-M customer.

Ken Shaw Sr. first established his business as a Sunoco service station in 1958. He opened a dealership five years later. Its success led Shaw to enter into the collision repair industry. He purchased Kingsway Collision in 1971. The business has been operating as Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota Collision Centre since 1990 in its current location. The Shaw family continues to run the ever-expanding business.

An expanding customer-base has prompted the business to increase the space in its facility as well. The production space, office area and customer lounge have all been increased since 2015 with the facility’s total area reaching 15,000 sq ft. In 2019, Shaw’s facility added another 10,000 sq ft to its metal shop and parts management areas.

“Our business model is built on honesty and transparency with our employees, customers, insurance companies and suppliers,” said Danny Jamal, General Manager of Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota Collision Centre. “It is our priority to stay current on training and certification required by Lexus and Toyota Canada. We want to ensure that every customer coming through the door at Ken Shaw Lexus Toyota always walks out satisfied with our work.”

“On behalf of BASF Refinish Canada, we are proud to be partners with Ken Shaw as they celebrate this milestone,” said Mark Huisman, Business Manager for BASF Refinish Canada. “They have set an example of the work ethic and commitment it takes to be successful in this industry.”
