Technician Charles Morin has been named winner of the national Best of Belron competition, after having aced the regional final in Ottawa.
The national final of the Best of Belron competition was concluded on January 16 in Montreal. Belron a global organization specializing in automotive glass repair and replacement and ADAS camera calibration organizes the international competition—Best of Belron.
Competing with Morin were five other Belron technicians from across Canada. Achieving excellent repairs, refits, a windshield replacement and an ADAS forward-facing digital camera calibration helped Morin earn the top honour.
“This competition was exceptional. I’m very proud to be going on to represent Canada in Barcelona. It’s been a real pleasure to take part in this event and I’m hoping to share everything I’ve learned back at home. Hopefully, my performance in Barcelona will lead to a 2020 Best of Belron title,” noted Morin, after winning the top prize.
Morin has been a part of Belron Canada for 15 years in Ottawa. He performed especially well in the first windshield replacement challenge, which was followed by his perfect execution in the windshield repair challenge. He was successfully able to demonstrate his skills and speed of execution. Morin will be competing in the international Best of Belron competition in Barcelona on June 3 and 4, 2020.
The winners of the Best of Belron Canada edition are:
- 1st Place: Charles Morin, Ontario
- 2nd Place: Dave Chester, Alberta
- 3rd Place: Michael Hallworth, Alberta
The six contestants had to undertake three challenges during the competition—the windshield reparation (80 steps necessary), the windshield replacement (125 steps), and an ADAS forward-facing digital camera calibration.
