Mitchell International has announced that its patented Mitchell Diagnostics system has achieved a major milestone since it has been used for completing more than one million vehicle repair scans on collision-damaged vehicles.

Enhancements were made to the Mitchell Diagnostics product lineup recently to aid collision repair facilities in performing safe repairs. The milestone achievement follows these upgrades.

The Mitchell Diagnostics system was first introduced in July 2017. Its users currently include assisted insurers, independent appraisers and collision repair facilities. As stated by the company in a release, the system is a comprehensive collision repair diagnostics solution offered by Mitchell that is designed to work on all leading makes. The system is equipped to be used for both scanning and diagnostic vehicle repair. In July this year, Mitchell also announced its collaboration with Drew Technologies. Mitchell is now offering OEM factory scanning and remote technical assistance from experts on diagnostic repairs with the help of this new partnership.

“More than one million Mitchell Diagnostic scans were completed and delivered with no transaction fees, which provides advantages in claims costs for carriers and profit margins for repairers,” noted Jack Rozint, Senior Vice President of Auto Physical Damage Repair Sales for Mitchell. “The entire product suite is based on OEM licensed data from Bosch and factory OEM scanning software and tools through Drew. So, our users are assured of best-in-class quality in a platform that is cost-effective and efficient.”

Mitchell explains that to aid collision repairers in performing in-house diagnostic repairs, the its diagnostic system has been equipped with several capabilities, such as ADAS recalibrations, system resets, and J-2534 compliant module reprogramming. Repairers can also have access to assistance from ASE certified master technicians for troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs, thanks to Mitchell’s recent partnership with Drew Technologies.

Free flow of repair and claims information among Mitchell and major third-party applications has been made possible on the company’s Freedom Platform. This capability enables its users to streamline processing and helps them in performing safe repairs. According to Mitchell, the company’s partnerships with Drew and Bosch marks its commitment towards offering solutions for current repair and claims process requirements through significant collaborations within the industry.

“From the beginning, one of our core design principles for the Mitchell Diagnostics system was simplicity,” said Alex Landau, Product Manager at Mitchell. “Pre and post-scanning is an important part of performing proper and safe repairs, but making the process easy is key. Our system is simple, fast and automatically routes the documentation via Mitchell Connect. This ease of use is a major reason customers like the Mitchell Diagnostics system, and why they have produced over a million vehicle scans to date.”
