CARSTAR has announced that several participating locations throughout Canada will be honouring local veterans and active duty members on Remembrance Day by providing a free windshield treatment.

Steve Ivankovic, a retired Warrant Officer who served for 21 years in different posts across Canada, appreciates such gestures of gratitude from local business owners.

“Whenever members of the community take the time out to recognize the hard work and dedication of our soldiers it’s very much appreciated,” he says.

Depending on the location, veterans and active duty service members may receive their free-of-charge windshield treatment, to prepare their vehicles for winter, on November 11 or on several other dates. On providing proof of Canadian Armed Forces service, the windshield treatment will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

“Having been a CARSTAR franchise owner, I had the opportunity to participate in this program in my community and found it extremely rewarding,” says Jeff Labanovich, General Manager, CARSTAR. “This is the least we can do for these heroic citizens who have done so much for us and I hope this small token demonstrates our gratitude for those who have or currently are serving our country.”

The windshield treatment forms a chemical bond to the glass due to which rain beads off the windshield. Other benefits of the treatment include better visibility in the rain, sleet and snow; and easy removal of ice and snow.

CARSTAR locations are participating in the Remembrance Day program for the third year now. A complete list of locations that are honouring Canadian Armed Forces service members through the program is available on CARSTAR’s website.
