Auto Value has announced that Jason Meilleur from River Park Automotive in Winnipeg, Manitoba is the 2020 Canadian Technician of the Year.
Auto Value chose Meilleur from amongst five Canadian finalists, recognizing his automotive excellence, as well as training efforts. To honour his achievement, the company invited him to be a part of a four-day trip from March 12 to 15 in San Antonio, Texas. The trip is organized by Auto Value every year for the Technician of the Year winners from Canada, the U.S. and Mexico, as well as all the U.S. finalists.
River Park Automotive, where Meilleur works, is an Auto Value Certified Service Centre and a customer of Piston Ring Service Supply.
“Piston Ring is very excited for Jason of River Park Automotive, here in Winnipeg, being awarded Canadian Tech of the Year,” said Melissa Tennant, who manages marketing and events for Piston Ring. “Jason is very qualified in all aspects of his job and well-deserving of the award. Congratulations Jason!”
Auto Value names Mark Calzia of M.C. Tire & Automotive as the 2020 U.S. Technician of the Year and Luis Alfredo Calles Rivas of Mecatec Express as the 2020 Mexican Technician of the Year. They joined Meilleur along with all the U.S. finalists on the San Antonio trip.

The technicians and the guests received special treatment throughout the trip and had a gala time visiting places and enjoying varied dining experiences. They were taken to visit the Tejas Rodeo in Bulverde for a true Texas experience.
Before the rodeo, Auto Value presented the winners with customized Auto Value Technician of the Year winner belt buckles and the finalists were given belt buckles customized for them. Meilleur and the other winners were specially recognized during the event.
