Hunter Engineering Company recently announced production of its 30,000th RX Scissor Lift Rack at the company’s Durant, Mississippi plant.

“We are extremely proud to reach this milestone,” noted Durant Plant Manager Wayne Bowling. “While we know others have off-shored similar products, Hunter keeps reinvesting in our plant and our people. We are fortunate to have both dedicated employees who have contributed to Hunter’s strong manufacturing presence in the USA, and more than 30,000 customers who believe the technology, durability and value of RX racks are worth it.”

Hunter’s first RX Scissor Lift scissor rack was manufactured in 2001 and today, this family of space-efficient shop lifts is now in its third generation and used in a wide-array of shops in over 100 countries.

Since 1976, all of Hunter’s alignment racks have been manufactured at the Durant facility.

Currently, the RX Scissor Lift Rack is available in various capacities.

These include 4536 kg (10,000 lbs), 5443 kg (12,000 lbs), 6350 kg (14,000 lbs) and  7257 kg (16,000 lbs) configurations. The RX series offers a low-profile compact package, with extra-wide runways and a hydraulic system that’s designed to reduce descent time by 50 percent. Hunter’s patented PowerSlide feature locks slip plates and turn plates, meaning the technician doesn’t need to perform the task of traditional pin-locking.

Most recently, Hunter released a harsh-duty variation for RX Lift Racks. This new product is the first in the industry to introduce powder-coating on runway-style racks and will likely prove highly suitable to repair facilities in much of Canada and the northern U.S. where winter weather and harsh brine solutions can provide significant damage to both vehicles and shop equipment.
