The Automotive Industries Association (AIA) of Canada has announced that that the members of the Canadian Independent Automotive Association (CIAA) will be participating in the Automotive Service Associate Program (ASAP).

As explained by the association in a release, the association is constantly working to aid automotive service providers in voicing their opinions on a provincial, as well as national level. AIA Canada states that with its ASAP program, the association is providing a broader platform to the members of CIAA to help them address the current concerns of the automotive aftermarket.

The CIAA was established in 2004 with the intention to help in creating a sustainable aftermarket sector. Changing the image of the industry is also a mission undertaken by the association. CIAA consists of members who are independent automotive repair business owners who are located in Alberta. The primary object of the organization is to encourage, support and promote the advancement of all its members.

“Both AIA Canada and the CIAA are driven to improve the automotive aftermarket for both independent businesses and Canadian vehicle owners,” said Jean-François Champagne, President, AIA Canada. “Given the similarity in our mission statements, we naturally fit together. It’s a win-win for both associations.”

According to AIA Canada, it will be able to aid CIAA members in bringing their provincial issues/concerns to the national level with the help of the various benefits and offerings of the Automotive Service Associate Program.

“I am excited to see the new opportunities that our members can take advantage of through AIA Canada,” said Wayne Paulsen, President, CIAA. “I believe that together we will have a more powerful voice to speak on behalf of the independent repairers.”

Champagne shared further information regarding CIAA’s participation in ASAP through a video.
