CarCare Business recently paid a visit to Bernard’s Quality Cars in Flesherton, Ont.

With growth coming to the area, the business has seen expansion, with three additional service bays added, for a total of seven bays.

Talking with Jessica Bernard-Wood, General Manager, the new addition has enabled greater efficiencies, helping the shop’s technicians to add more capacity when needed. Additionally, the used car business has also benefitted, due to a dedicated rust-proofing bay.

Having the Rust Check bay has really been a huge asset,” says Jessica. “Before the extension was completed and operational [as of January 1, 2019] we could only rust proof cars on Saturdays in the fall. Now, 9 out of 10 vehicles we sell through the used car business is undercoated and it’s been a good business and additional revenue stream for us.”

Bernard’s is a family business, originally established by Jessica’s grandfather Archie, in 1973. A two-bay repair shop was added in 1975 and since then the business has grown, with Jessica’s father Terry taking over the business in 1986 with Jessica following in 2006 and her younger sister Stef in 2013.  Today the service business is part of the NAPA Auto Pro network and continues to invest in training and equipment to deliver exceptional customer service.
