Leesburg, Virginia – The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Tuesday, April 4 at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “Testing Solenoids for Variable Valve Timing (VVT).”

In this webinar, Ryan Payne and Mark Kenyon with Garage Gurus will reveal important tips for diagnosing solenoids used in Variable Valve Timing (VVT) systems. Emphasis includes:

• Understanding the different types of VVT solenoids found in modern vehicles

• Understanding normal VVT operation and control

• The importance of lab scope testing to quickly validate solenoid circuit integrity

• Using scan tool data as well as basic electrical testing to quickly diagnose VVT solenoid issues

Remanufacturing is one of the keys for developing circular economy technologies. Used parts of electronic or mechanical products can be made new again, sometimes even with a specification better than the original parts. In order to reach this aim very sophisticated processes containing inspection, disassembly, cleaning, reprocessing and assembly/testing are necessary.

In the series of the successful symposia on innovation and automation in remanufacturing Prof. Matthias Vette-Steinkamp and Prof. Wolfgang Gerke from Trier University of Applied Sciences – Environmental Campus Birkenfeld together with their friend the remanufacturing specialist Mr. Fernand Weiland organize the 11th symposium on Innovation and Automation in Remanufacturing with the special topic: Reman and Automation/Reman and Steel industry.
